So, you wish to role as Shinigami huh? Well just in case you're completely ignorant about the Manga and Anime that Shinigami originate from, I'll let you Google them in your own free time. My job, is to give you as much info as I can on how Shinigami go about their daily business in the RP of this site.
Now the first thing you should do is post in the Rukongai as this is where your Character will either be born or if they lived in the Human World before dying, they will be sent here. Depending on where you choose to position your Character in the Rukongai, will depend on what kind of life they had, as the lower numbered districts such as Districts 1-5 are rich and posh and have a lot of influence. Also it is in these districts that the Clans come from such as the famous Kuchiki Clan. However, if you choose a high numbered District such as 73 they will have a hard life fending for themselves in what is more or less a slum.
Once you reach 5,000 you are then able to enroll in the Shinigami Academy where you are taught in the four Shinigami arts:
Hakuda
Zanjutsu
Hoho
Kido
A full list of the techniques are available though you may only learn 2 Kido per week and 2 other techniques per week.
You will remain in the Academy until 15,000 where you graduate and are able to pick a Squad in the Thirteen Court Guard Squads of your liking.
At 25,000 is where your first release "Shikai" is available for you to learn. Once you have picked your Squad you join them and do basic duties until you are able to be promoted. You can become the Vice Captain of your Squad, though this decision is down to the Captain of your Squad if the position is available, at 35,000. This will give you a lot more responsibilities within your Squad and if your prove yourself things can become even better.
Once you reach 60,000 you are more or less at the top of your game and your second release "Bankai" is available. At 75,000 , if the position is available the Captain Commander can appoint you the Captain of your Squad. Of course you still have a lot to learn and will spend the remainder of your career honing your skills and improving all the time.
If the life of a Shinigami become too tedious for you, at 30,000 you can take the test to become a Vaizard, offering a lot more abilities and a dangerous life. Be wary though, the test is difficult to pass and if you fail the consequences are severe.

Asauchi:- Spoiler:
Is the Basic sealed zanpakuto given to all Shin'o academy Students. There are no requirements other than joining the Academy to obtain. Capable of doing Kunso (soul burials) and Hollow purifications.
- Spoiler:
Shikai is the second form (or first upgraded form) available to a Zanpakutō. To activate it, the Shinigami needs to learn the name of their Zanpakutō. This is not as easy as simply picking a name, for the living spirit of the Zanpakutō already has its own name. The Shinigami must be able to communicate and harmonize with their Zanpakutō effectively, which requires being able to speak to the spirit within its world.
- Must be 25,000 Reiatsu

Materialization means the opposite of getting dragged into the Zanpakutō's inner world: the wielder needs to summon the Zanpakutō's spirit into the physical world. It usually takes 10 years or more to achieve, plus the experience needed to master it.
- Must be 60,000 Reiatsu
- Must post a 3,000 WC learning

First and Foremost:
All of the sentences have to be related to the learning of the spell. Also learning doesn't stack.
Example: You can't spend 350 words learning Sai and then say well I'm pretty close so I might as well type 50 more and learn Hainawa because that will equal 400 words. You have to type up a whole new grouping of sentences dedicated to learning a new spell.
I know there are a few mass posters out there and I just want to let you know that you CAN NOT make one massive post and learn five spells. You can only learn two Kido per RL day, and you must also stick within the learning constraints already in place. Please not that Kyakko cannot be used in combat situations. "Auto-hit" Kido such as Geki and Sai that have drastic effects seemingly instant will in fact act as actual attacks moving towards the enemy, to give them a chance to dodge.
**Note: You may learn kido at a 10% WC reduction if taught by a player Shinigami who already knows the spell.
With that out of the way:

Kidō
("demon way" or "spirit way"; sometimes translated as Demon Arts; Viz "Soul Reaper's powers"; "Spells") is a form of Shinigami combat that is based on advanced spells that are produced with strong Reiryoku and fall into two categories: Hadō for direct attacks, and Bakudō for battle support. It is one of the techniques in the Zankensoki, the group of Shinigami primary combat skills. Kidō spells are triggered by an incantation. Experienced users can trigger them without an incantation, though the effectiveness of the spell will be diminished.
Each spell is graded on a scale from 1 to 99, the latter being the most powerful and the most difficult to perform. The scale is a measure of difficulty. To use Kidō, a Shinigami must recite the specific incantation for the spell, which is often long and requires a few seconds to speak. The power of a spell relies on the power of the user, as even a low-level spell can be utterly devastating when utilized by a high-class Shinigami. Kidō can also be used for practical purposes as well. Renji Abarai has demonstrated that a kidō spell can be used to light a dark hallway if the spell is tweaked in the right way, with less power. Kidō is commonly seen used in instances of surprise attacks, rather than all-out assaults, being most effective when one's opponent doesn't see it coming. Kidō is also usable with just the spell name and no incantation or spell number.
Hadō:
(lit. "Way of Destruction"): Offensive spells that inflict direct damage to the enemy. Their effectiveness differs depending on the user. It is said that the effectiveness of the higher-ranked spells are beyond imagination
Academy Level Kido:

Notes: High Speed Regeneration as we see in the manga/anime is not fit for rp’ing purposes as it is unbalanced. As such separate guidelines have been set up to account for this in an attempt to make the skill more balanced
High Speed Regeneration: The ability of Hollow’s or vaizards to regenerate injuries at a rapid rate of speed. This ability is voluntary, as if they do not wish to heal the wounds the wounds themselves will not heal. For roleplaying purposes clear guidelines about how fast and what exactly can be healed must be outlined. This will outline all one should need to know about High Speed Regeneration.
- Spoiler:
On this forum, what can be healed will be limited. Damage to internal organs cannot be healed by high speed regeneration. As such shots to the heart, kidneys, brain etc that damage the user will remain damaged. Blood does not return, as such blood loss will affect those with the skill same as any other. Skin, appendages, broken bones, muscles even major wounds are all injuries however that can be healed via it’s use.
- Spoiler:
Different injuries will take a different amount of time to heal based upon severity. A conversation chart that can be viewed below has been set up for your convenience.
Minor cuts and Bruises= 1 Post
Moderate Cuts/Fractured Bones= 1.5 (1 post+ 300 words) Posts
Major wounds/Gashes, Broken Bones= 2 Posts
Shattered Bones/ Severed Appendages= 3 Posts
- Spoiler:
Healing will take stamina, causing somebody to feel tired and draining them of energy. Meaning if someone intends to let themselves become cut up simply cause they will heal, their character will become tired from the constant healing. Also take note that blood does not return via regen, so bloodloss still affects characters. You are also not immune to pain by any means.

Sometimes lady luck just isn't on your side. You pushed her and she responded with a swift kick in the nuts, or teeth for our females. In response you have degraded into transforming into a Hollow before the universe would lock you at this stage, now we shall offer you something more.
- Spoiler:
What are you?
You are a Hollow now that you have failed the Vaizard Test 2 times, with the potential to transform into an Imperfect Arrancar. After becoming a hollow, one must type out a grand total of about 7,000 words about their adventures as a Hollow. This can be anything, training, wandering, etc it just has to amount to that word count eventually over time. Yes this does count towards increasing your reiatsu, so it's not anything you wouldn't do previously anyway.
What does Transforming into a failed arrancar give me?
In all honesty it's mostly plot devices, you are no longer feral. You can think and react like a person with reasoning. It will also give you back a release, that amounts to 9,000 reiatsu boost during and some abilities. However you will only be able to maintain it for a certain amount of posts and the abilities won't be nearly as much as a pure Failed Vizard can achieve. You will also never have a chance at segunda res, or high speed regeneration, ever period. There may also be some other detriments that will not be revealed/don't matter at the moment (Fear the LW). You transform into an Imperfect Arrancar, simply fill out the character sheet. You are a Hollow until 7,000 WC then can do transformation,
